This level I class welcomes new students and those looking to revisit the foundations of yoga. With attention on breath and alignment, we will explore traditional yoga postures (asanas) in an atmosphere that encourages lightheartedness, laughter, and self-exploration. Modifications will be offered to provide a practice that honors each student’s individual ability and needs.
Yoga I (Anusara Inspired)
Just like in our other level I class, this class is designed to introduce new students to yoga and will use the Universal Principles of Alignment as created by John Friend, as well as the art and science working with the breath and meditation. Students will be given the tools to learn to practice safely, move pain-free, and experience new levels calm and acceptance while simultaneously gaining more flexibility, strength, and energy. Be ready to have fun, feel great, and work hard!
Yoga I/II (Anusara Inspired)
This class will be a continuation of what students learn in Yoga I. An understanding of the practice is recommended to fully and safely explore the more challenging asanas in this class. This class is not suitable for students who have never practiced yoga before, but an understanding of the Anusara principles of Alignment is not a prerequisite.
Yoga II (Anusara Inspired)
After completing level I/II, the student in this class will be challenged as the practice begins to be more refined and poses are held longer, requiring more endurance. The transitions begin to flow with more fluidity and precision, increasing heat, heart rate, strength, balance and flexibility. Students will continue to explore deeper backbends and handstands. Prior yoga experience is necessary in this more challenging class. An understanding of the Anusara Principles of Alignment is helpful but not required.
Yoga III (Anusara Inspired)
Students in this class are expected to have a strong yoga practice (be in class several times a week or have a regular home practice), a deeper understanding of Yoga, and already be able to do full backbends and handstands at the wall. This advanced class will explore more arm balances and continue to refine posed using the Anusara Principles of Alignment. Deeper meditation and theory will also be included in this longer advanced class.
Core Centered Yoga
It is said that our power comes from our our core, and when we lack adequate strength in this fiery region, we can feel dull, out of balance, and weak. This Yoga class will not only strengthen your core, but it will leave your spine feeling more supported and help to alleviate back pain , give you more energy, and connect you to a greater place of confidence and joy! We will balance this strengthening and toning with lengthening and learn to release tension through our breath and movement. All levels welcome!
For students who desire more restorative and gentle yoga postures, deeper relaxation and more focus on meditation and reducing stress, this class is for you. Modifications and focus on moving pain free will also be a benefit of Gentle Yoga.
Happy Hour Yoga
Get your weekend moving at happy hour yoga! This class will be a vinyasa-based power hour designed to invigorate while allowing practitioners to release the week’s stressful energy. Students can expect a warm, dynamic flow designed to realign the body and balance the mind for the weekend ahead. This will be an all-level athletic practice, so students should come prepared to sweat.
Hot Yoga is a challenging and exhilarating practice where students will move into deep detoxification and toning vinyasa sequences in a heated practice environment. A heated practice space encourages better circulation and expansion in the muscles and blood vessels, to aid students in safely stretching and increasing metabolism, circulation, and heart rate. A heated space coupled with creative vinyasa flow practice lends to an integrated sense of balance, strength, and release. Some yoga experience is suggested as the practice will be vinyasa-based and the room will be heated to 88+ degrees fahrenheit.
Learn to practice vipassana, the oldest form of Buddhist meditation from which modern mindfulness practice is derived. By training awareness of breath, body, sound, and mental activity, one can develop clear-seeing, or insight, about the nature of reality. Scientifically-proven benefits of the practice include lowering stress, increasing focus, regulating emotions, and boosting immunity. No meditation experience is necessary. Though rooted in the Buddhist tradition, this is a nonsectarian class open to anyone interested in living authentically. Class sessions will feature guided meditation, short talks or discussion, moving meditation, and silent meditation.

Please bring quiet soft toys and books for them to play with and share.
