This series is designed to expose you to several different meditation styles…and ultimately BOOST YOUR MOOD! Each class is designed to be a stand-alone introduction and practice of each style; but taken as a series, they weave together a well-rounded foundation for your home mindfulness practice. Experienced meditators will add dimension & variety to their practice. Connie’s various sound healing instruments compliment the 4 distinct styles: Zazen (Buddhist), Metta (Lovingkindness), Body Inclusion and Transition + Movement. Each session will incorporate focused breathing techniques, enhanced by Gongs, Tibetan Singing Bowls and Crystal Bowls, Drums, shakers and chimes. Connie’s fun and open teaching style will keep you engaged.
The proper guidance can help you settle into a style that resonates for you. This series will be especially helpful to those who have been frustrated or disengaged in “previous attempts” at meditating, as well as the curious who aren’t sure where to start. The key to any meaningful home practice is to try several styles, to find one that resonates most. You’ll be able to more readily incorporate meditation into your daily life- off the mat- if you have more tools in your toolbox.

Zazen Meditation Introduction
This classic, seated, Buddhist meditation approach spread from India to China, to Japan, to other parts of Asia, and then finally to the West. Learn the fundamentals with Connie, as we experiment with different postures and breath cycles. Center, settle, detach, dissolve. No experience necessary!

Body Inclusion & Advanced Breathwork Techniques
Connie takes you on a tour of your own system. We often “leave parts of ourselves behind” in our daily life, or in surviving difficult experiences. During this session, we bring the body back online, through focused meditation techniques, Chakra Sound Healing, and advanced breathwork practices. Using Tibetan Singing bowls tuned to the Chakras and a huge Meridian bowl we each stand in, allows alignment, inclusion and integration of the physical self with the mental and spiritual self. This session will be especially powerful if you are working through an illness or injury. No experience necessary.

Metta bhavana (Lovingkindness) Meditation
The classic heart-opener! Develop compassion, facilitate forgiveness, and cultivate love. Sound healing instruments and Connie’s soothing voice helps us soften, and we begin to break down barriers that we feel inwardly toward ourselves, then those that we feel toward others. This incredibly healing practice has roots in Buddhist tradition, but can be accessed by anyone with a will to heal. Especially powerful technique for those struggling with self-doubt, self-judgement, shame or bitterness. No experience necessary.

Transition + Movement Meditation
Transitions are the grand sticking points in our human progression- we humans get stuck here a lot. Connie uses innovative movement and musical techniques to show you how to release blockages, channel your energy and ultimately apply mindfulness techniques to your moving body. This class will give you fuel and focus for the dance of your daily life. Applying meditation & consciousness techniques to a moving body empowers you to face transitions from a place of empowerment! No experience necessary.
